Stacy Rhodes, LCSW
Stacey Rhodes, LCSW - Therapist and Supervisor
Stacey Rhodes, LCSW, is a psychotherapist and supervisor at The Center for CBT in NYC. She has been with the practice (Previously Dr. Elizabeth Cohen and Associates) since its founding. Stacey received her Master’s of Social Work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. Stacey is experienced in working with clients ranging in age from children to older adults and of a variety of backgrounds who are having difficulty dealing with issues such as: stress and anxiety or other anxiety related disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, fears and phobias, depression, trauma, self-esteem, life changes or transitions, grief, attention deficit disorders, dating, romantic and social relationships and more. She also works with parents and children to address parenting challenges and other family matters. Stacey believes in and leverages cognitive behavioral therapy as a powerful method to successfully address each client’s unique areas of concern. She takes a supportive, encouraging, and strengths-based approach to help her clients in all facets of personal growth and self-discovery. Stacey also likes to incorporate her knowledge of family systems, attachment theory, mindfulness, acceptance and trauma-informed techniques into her work with clients. Stacey is also trained in and utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder and specific phobias.

Stacey believes in and sees the best in her clients and acknowledges how hard they are working to manage a hard situation. Stacey provides a warm, caring and non-judgmental space for her clients and welcomes a client’s collaboration in sessions. Stacey believes that therapy is a joint effort between client and therapist. She has found great joy in being able to be an additional support and cheerleader for her clients and join them in their life’s journey.

Prior to joining The Center for CBT in NYC, Stacey worked within the Mt. Sinai Health System, conducting trauma-focused therapy for children and adolescents and their families, where she was trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has experience working in schools, foster care, and group residence facilities. Stacey frequently collaborates with the external systems that support the individuals and families she works with, such as, school staff, psychiatrists, physicians, career coaches and other providers.

Stacey is an avid learner and is always open to taking new trainings and learning new techniques that she can use in her practice. To continue her development as a clinician, she has earned certificates from NYU’s post-masters programs on Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis in addition to a variety of other continuing education courses.

A lifelong New Yorker, Stacey enjoys spending time in Central Park. She enjoys binge watching true crime documentaries, reality television and cooking competition shows. Stacey also enjoys stand-up comedy and likes to find the humor in everyday scenarios and enjoys bringing humor into her sessions with clients as well.
